The next meeting of the Club will be on Wednesday 24th February at Marie Milne’s at 8.00p.m when we shall discuss “Shanghai Girls” by Lisa See.

St Andrew’s – Muhura Our recent correspondence from Dismas Ngedabanga has informed us that he has been made the Rural Dean of Muhura Deanery and he also tells us that our friend Elson Mageza, who visited us last year, has now been appointed Sub-Dean of the cathedral in Kigali. Elson was able to complete his course in Hemel Hempstead in one year instead of two to allow him to rejoin his family and take up the new position. Dismas has again invited us to visit his parish in Muhura to meet his family and congregation and see the hostels which we have helped to build over the last seven years. We have recently sent almost £900, to purchase a solar panel and connector because the electricity link from the school which used to be freely available is now very sporadic. Elson, who was transferred from Muhura to Bushara, has also extended an invitation to stay with him and his family – he is pleased to tell us that the funds which we sent to his last Parish in Bushara to purchase a water tank and solar panel has made parish life much easier – there is no water in the remote village of Bushara and unlike Muhura and the many other churches shown on our large scale Rwanda map I cannot find it!
