We continue to meet week by week in the hall and during February have been finding out about some of Jesus’ healing miracles. During March the focus will change to Lent. Two events are planned, the Lent Lunch on 15th and something special with flowers on Mothering Sunday, 22nd. Looking ahead to April we will be having a family service with dramatised Passion Gospel reading on Sunday 5th April.
Sunday 15th March, after the service

Thursday Morning Worship, Coffee & Bible Study during Lent: 10am – 11.30am in the Hall.
Lent is an opportunity to give up things which clutter our lives, so that we can give more time for God. If you are free on Thursday mornings during Lent, we invite you to join us.
During Lent our Thursday service will be a variety of different styles of meditative and reflective worship, all within the Anglican liturgical tradition.
Worship will be followed by a Bible study and discussion on “A faith that works”, based on the Letter of James. Continue reading ‘Thursday Morning Lent Specials’
It was a privilege to have The Most Rev Dr Idris Jones – Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church – with us at St Oswald’s on Sunday 21st December 2008 as celebrant and preacher. Assisted by Rev Dr Ian Meredith, Rector and Rev Canon Dr Bertie Collie, Assistant Priest our Dedication Sung Eucharist was a particularly joyous occasion in honour of the 125th Anniversary of the consecration of our building. After the service the congregation joined together in the hall for a well supplied Bring and Share lunch. Continue reading ‘St Oswald’s celebrates 125th anniversary’
The doors to the Lord’s house are always open, but in this age of security they are not always unlocked. On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September St Oswald’s unlocked its doors to all. Cards intimating notice of the event were delivered to approximately 1000 houses in Maybole and people came.
We celebrated Harvest with a special family service in a beautifully decorated church on Sunday 5th October.
One of our main on-going mission projects is to fill shoeboxes with small gifts for the Blythswood Care annual shoe box appeal. At this time of year the pace quickens to a run as we cover boxes, fill them and tick the check lists.
